Welcome!
Milwaukee Area Home Learners (MAHL) is a group of homeschooling families who gather for friendship, activities, and support. Families come from all walks of life, setting aside differences in approaches to education, curriculum choices, religious and philosophical beliefs, and parenting styles to create a vibrant and inclusive homeschooling community in southeastern Wisconsin.
We are a co-op. All our members volunteer their time and energy to organize events and share information. Events range from park days and seasonal hikes to field trips to museums and performing arts shows, along with parent led classes. There is something for every homeschool family in MAHL.

MAHL kicks off every school year with an annual Don't Go Back to School picnic in September. Throughout the year, MAHL members attend a variety of performances, from First Stage to Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra to the Milwaukee Ballet. Families also have opportunities to go on group hikes, park days, classes coordinated by fellow member parents and so on. In the past, MAHL has done field trips to the Milwaukee Public Museum, Wildlife in Need Center, and Milwaukee Admiral hockey games, just to name a few.
Parents are encouraged to create classes where they lead students in educational opportunities. Just this past year, we've had a series on Astronomy and on Photography led by member parents. Opportunities for skiing in the winter or hitting up a driving range have been fun events available for MAHL members to join in with!
